There are so many misconceptions about Hemp fabric today and hopefully I can clear up some of these preconceived judgments of this miracle plant with this blog.
Although Hemp is one of the oldest industries (dating back about 10,000 years ago), it still remains one of the most versatile and valuable fabrics on the market.
Hemp is naturally antibacterial and grows without the use of herbicides and pesticides. This makes it more environmentally friendly than cotton. It also makes hemp clothes resistant to developing odors, our hemp t shirts can be worn for days without developing odors, which means less washing and which ultimately means less water consumption and a longer lasting t shirt!
Due to high cellulose content and having very long soft fibers, hemp fabric is up to 4x stronger than cotton while still maintaining its softness and comfort! This is one of the properties that got me interested in using hemp as my fabric of choice for Strictly Highgrade. The fact that hemp t shirts are incredibly soft and comfortable while still being more durable than cotton amazed me!
The nature of hemp fibers makes it more absorbent than cotton to dyes and resistant to ultraviolet rays. Coupling these two properties makes Hemp t shirts less prone to fading. Our hemp t shirts can survive years of repeated washing without color fading and losing its shape.
These are just some of the amazing qualities of hemp that I personally experienced since launching the Strictly Highgrade brand 2 years ago. Today, all I wear is Strictly Highgrade! Its so comfortable that its perfect to sleep and lounge around with. Our designs are so unique that it is a sure conversation starter and eye catcher making it perfect to hit the town.
